Structural DNA nanotechnology provides unprecedented precision for engineering molecular systems from the bottom up, allowing researchers to programme both spatial organisation and reaction kinetics. In this seminar, Dr Bae will present two distinct approaches that leverage engineered DNA to overcome critical bottlenecks in both solid-state nanomaterials and compartmentalised chemical networks.

主讲人介绍:

Dr. Wooli Bae is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Surrey. Dr. Bae earned his Ph.D. in Physics from KAIST, Republic of Korea. He then carried out postdoctoral research at KAIST, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and Imperial College London. His current research lies at the intersection of membrane biophysics, DNA/RNA nanotechnology, and bottomup synthetic biology, focusing on developing protocell systems powered by DNA and RNA circuits.
